Our topic of discussion for todays net was: How do we get new blood to join our great hobby? The most popular ideas were:

  • Presentations/stations in area schools
  • Be more Active, both in terms of events and repeaters.  If we are seen doing things it will get people interested.
  • Get a station in the local Boy's and Girls Clubs, and have those stations active routinely
  • Hold classes and promote them heavily
  • Work with the scouts, both boys and girls and their events to promote our hobby

Just a reminder, the WI ARES/RACES HF net meets every Sunday Morning at 8:00 local time on 3967khz.  If you don't have HF privilage and would like to join us, contact a operator with HF privilage in your area and see if you can join them in their shack.
