Marathon County ARES/RACES

April 4-8 is Severe Weather Awareness Week

We will run a simulated SKYWARN net starting at 1:30pm until 2:00pm on Thursday April 7. You are welcome to join us. If you have work commitments that prevent you from staying on the net the entire time, that is ok. You can just check-in, we will acknowledge your check-in, and then you can go about your work.

IMPORTANT! NEW REPEATER FOR 2022 SKYWARN ACTIVATIONS

Starting this week with the simulated Skywarn net, all activations will be on the 145.370 MHz N9MEA repeater. PL 114.17 – offset. An updated activated plan will be distributed at our next meeting. Please make the appropriate adjustments to your radios and personal plans.

The National Weather Service will not activate the EAS tones on NOAA weather radio nor will they send out TEST texts or messages to your mobile device. Local municipalities may test their storm sirens during this period. ”

Thanks for your participation and hope to hear you on the net.

Michael
